pecialized Solutions was founded with the goal of providing flexible, efficient, and economical training solutions for the architectural industry. As Autodesk® Revit® Architecture continues to grow in popularity and demand, many architectural firms are embracing the building information modeling (BIM) platform. But after paying for expensive training, firms are quick to realize that their “newly trained staff” has difficulty just starting a new project, not to mention using the software efficiently to profit the firm.
The key to the development of Specialized Solutions training approach, was recognizing the need for an innovative training solution that would build long-term business relationships, offer a competitive alternate to conventional training and support solutions, and provide practical methods to use the software efficiently in production environments.
Shawn Harriman, founder of Specialized Solutions, started his architectural career in 1988 working for a small custom home company that he later ushered into the computer-aided drafting arena with AutoCAD®. Early in 2007, he completed the Autodesk® certified training course for Autodesk® Revit® Architecture. Shawn gained an exceptional understanding of the software, enabling him to become very knowledgeable and proficient with the software. During the next two years, he contributed to the successful training, implementation, and development of standards within the current firm. Today, still eager to share his knowledge, Shawn continues to succeed in training a diverse array of users in the practical and efficient use of Revit Architecture in a production environment.
